The Terms of reference of the Committee will be as under
:
1.
To review the General Rules
1976 along with the amendment carried out in the
intervening period for:-
(a) Obsolescence and/or repetition of any of the
provisions,
(b) Updating and integrating it with the
technologies advancements since implemented for reducing
human dependence or is likely, and
(c) Incorporating the relevant provisions laid down
under unified SRs and SRs of different Railways which
merit uniform applicability over the system.
(d) Assessing relevance of a prescription whether it
merits inclusion in the General Rules or elsewhere.
2.
To review the format and
para-phrasing of the General Rules for :-
(a) Re-arrangement of
chapters and rules therein with the intention of
simplification and better readability;
(b) Better understanding of interoperatability of various provisions for an aspect
of train working ;
(c) Better understanding of roles and
responsibility of different
categories of staff.
