Innovations

1. Indigenisation of Cards of the Electronic Rack of Auxiliary Converter of 3-Phase electric locomotives.

RDSO has successfully indigenised Binary I/O card and Controller mother board card of Auxiliary Converter in 3-phase locomotives. Four other cards of Auxiliary Converter have been indigenised earlier, which paves the way for complete indigenised production of electronic rack of Auxiliary Converter in 3-phase locos.

2. Indigenisation of Gate Unit of Power Converter of 3-Phase electric locomotives

Gate Unit a very critical sub-assembly which controls the "Turning ON" and "Turning OFF" of GTO Thyristors of power converters. RDSO in collaboration with TOT partners have been successful in indigenising Gate Unit GVA587A01. The indigenisation of Gate Units will ultimately help in reduction in cost of Power Converters of 3-Phase electric locomotives.
