empty wagons supplied to steel plants for loading
of Iron and Steel consignments,
Silica Manganese and Ferro Manganese

Board’s letter of even number dated 20.09.2004 (Rates Circular No.
32 of 2004)
In terms of Board’s letter quoted above, permission was
given to steel plants to weigh the tare of the empty
wagons supplied to them for loading of Iron and Steel consignments and
Silica Manganese/ Ferro Manganese consignments upto 26.8.2005.
It has now been decided to extend the validity of the permission
for a further period of one year beyond 26.8.2005, subject to the
fulfilment of all the terms and conditions stipulated in the Board’s
letter of even number dated 28.10.2003.

Concerned Zonal Railways should submit half yearly appreciation
reports on the working of the scheme indicating the total number of wagons
tare weighed giving wagon-wise details of wagons number, type of wagon,
printed tare weight, actual tare weight, the difference, if any etc. The
reports for the period August 2005 to January 2006 may be sent to this
office by March 2006.

The proposal for continuance of tare weighment beyond, 26.8.2006
would need to be furnished by 30.6.2006 duly vetted by Associate Finance
of your Railway.

This issues in consultation with Traffic
Transportation, Mechanical directorates and with the concurrence of the
Finance Directorate in the Ministry of Railways.
5.
Issue necessary instructions to all concerned and acknowledge
receipt of this letter.
