Sub: Increase in
permissible carrying capacity of BOXN wagons on iron ore routes.
Ref: (i) Board’s

In terms of Board’s
letter of even number dated 10.05.2005 (Rates Circular No.25 of
2005), instructions were issued for running of BOXN wagons, loaded
upto CC+8 tonnes with an additional 2 tonnes loading tolerance, on
identified iron ore routes, as a pilot project for one year, subject
to fulfillment of various terms and conditions stipulated in Board’s
letter under reference (ii) above. |

Further to above,
it has now been decided that, in addition to already identified 16
routes, following four routes may also be added for running of BOXN
wagons, loaded upto CC+8 tonnes with an additional 2 tonnes loading
tolerance, as part of pilot project:
(a) Asansol-Kalipahari-DSP/Durgapur via slow lines only
(b) Swamihalli-Hospet
(c) Tornagallu-Ranjitpura
(d) Birmitrapur-Bonda Munda |

It has also been
decided that in addition to “Ores”, Limestone & Dolomite, Gypsum and
Stones, the enhanced Chargeable Carrying Capacity of CC+8 tonnes
with additional 2 tonnes loading tolerance, shall also be applicable
for ‘Clinkers’. |

The other terms and
conditions, as mentioned in the two letters referred above, shall
continue to apply unchanged for these four routes also. |

This instruction will
come into force w.e.f. 07.06.2005. |

This issues with
the approval of Civil Engineering, Traffic Transportation and
Finance Directorates of Railway Board. |
