                          Sub:    Revision in the classification of “Ores”.

                         Ref:     Board’s letter of even number dated 23.03.2005 (Rates Circular

                                    No.17 of 2005)& 29.03.2005 (Addendum to Rates Circular No.17of 2005) 


1.0 Sanction of the Central Government is hereby accorded to revise the classification of all the commodities falling under
Main commodity Head “Ores” appearing at S.No.59 of IRCA Goods Tariff No.44 Part-I (Vol.II) from Class-140 to Class-160. 

 2.0 Accordingly, the following alteration/deletion may be done .

2.1       Para 5.0 0f Board’s letter No TCR/1078/2005/1 dt 23.03.05 ( Rate Circular No.17 of 2005) may be deleted.

2.2       Para 5.1 of Board’s letter No TCR/1078/2005/1 dt 29.03.2005 (Addendum to Rate Circular No. 17 of 2005 ) may be deleted.

2.3       The words “Programmed for Steel Plant Sidings” mentioned below the commodity Iron Ores at S.No. 59  of the IRCA Goods Tariff No.44 Part-I (Vol.II) may be deleted. 

2.4       “Note:- * Iron ores other than programmed traffic for Steel Plant Sidings shall be charged at Class-160” appearing below Main Commodity Head “Ores” at S.No. 59 may be deleted.

2.5     “140” mentioned in the Trainload Class column against S.No.59 of the IRCA Goods Tariff No.44 Part-I (Vol.II) may be replaced with “160”.

3.0       This Rates Circular is also available on Indian Railway’s official website www.indianrailways.gov.in.

4.0       This instruction will come into force with effect from 15.05.2005.

4.0       This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate in the Ministry of Railways.

5.0       Issue necessary instructions to all concerned and acknowledge receipt of this letter.
