                                        Sub:  Trainload classification - rake size of  different wagons


         1.0 In terms of policy guidelines contained in Board’s letter No.TCR/1017/91/2 dated 17.08.1998 (Rates instructions No.49 of 1998), the standard rake size and minimum number of different types of wagons required for availing trainload rate benefit, were prescribed. 

2.0  Matter has been reviewed and it has been decided to modify the Annexure-I attached with the above mentioned circular regarding the standard rake size and minimum number of different types of wagons required for availing trainload rate benefit.

3.0 Sanction of the Central Government is hereby accorded to substitute the Annexure-I of Board’s letter No.TCR/1017/91/2 dated 17.08.1998 with the revised  Annexure enclosed herewith. 

4.0 It has also been decided that the combination of BCXN wagons with BCN/BCNA wagons would be eligible for trainload rate benefit on the same line as applicable for combination of BCN/BCNA wagons. 

5.0 The instructions will come into force w.e.f. 01.05.2005.

6.0 This issues in consultation of Traffic Transportation Directorate and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate in the Ministry of Railways. 

7.0 The instructions may please be issued to all concerned and acknowledge receipt of this letter.
