Addendum to Rates Circular No.17of 2005

Sub: Adjustments in Freight Rates effective from April 1,
2005 – Railway Budget 2005-06
Ref: Board’s letter of even number dated 23.03.2005
(Rates Circular No.17of 2005)
Sanction is hereby accorded to add the following
paragraphs in the Board’s letter referred above:
Insert para 4.1 as under:
4.1 For
foodgrains traffic meant to be charged at Class-100 or at Class-90, a
declaration should be given by the Food Corporation of India on the
Forwarding Note to the effect that the foodgrains are meant for Public
Distribution System or Poverty Alleviation Programme or for other relief
works. Suitable endorsements to this effect should be made by the booking
staff on the Invoices as well as on Railway Receipts.”
Insert para 5.1 as under:
5.1 “Steel plants sidings” in para 5.0 shall imply a
private siding of an integrated steel plant of one million tonne capacity
or more.

This issues in consultation with
the Traffic Transportation and with concurrence of the Finance
Directorates in the Ministry of Railways.
Issue necessary instructions to
all concerned and acknowledge receipt of this letter.
